Google LLC is an internet service and related products with its roots in the USA. The company was founded in the 90s. The founders were Larry Page and his friend Sergey Brin. They were both Ph.D. students at the time.
They collectively own 14% of the company’s publicly traded shares. They took the company public in 2004 through an IPO. Alphabet Inc wholly owns Google. It is Alphabet’s biggest subsidiary and also its investment vehicle for internet assets.
In 2015, Larry Page became the CEO of Alphabet and left his role at Google to Sundar Pichai. He went on to take over the leadership of Alphabet in 2019.
