There are currently three types of vaccinations approved by authorities in the United States. The vaccines are Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer-BioNTech, and Moderna-NIAID. The CDC approved the mixing and matching of the vaccinations of Americans at high risk of being infected. Either vaccine can act as a booster to citizens who received the first vaccination.

Citizens eligible for getting a booster after receiving the Pfizer and Moderna should

• Be aged 18-64 and have underlying medical issues

• Be over 65 years

• Be between 18-64 and working in high-risk areas

The underlying conditions are pregnant citizens and new mothers. For the Johnson & Johnson booster, the same age criteria also apply.

The Valneva Covid-19 Vaccine

A third trial was conducted on the vaccine after the U.K. canceled its over ninety million order. The results show the vaccine prepares the immune system to fight the virus. Valneva vaccine helps to produce neutralizing antibodies against the virus. It outclassed the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The company seeks vaccine approval from the European Medicines Agency and the U.K. health regulator.

Successful Pig Transplant to a Human

A surgery conducted by U.S doctors shows that a genetically modified kidney from pigs works typically in humans. The recipient of the kidney was a brain-dead patient using a ventilator.

Finding from the procedure indicate that the success rate is high. The success of the transplant would transform the organ transplant field for a lifetime. The groundbreaking research is yet to be published by any journal.

The Salmonella Outbreaks

The salmonella outbreak in over 35 states has linked the disease to Mexican onions. The attack has sickened over six hundred people and has become a health concern for the health officials. There are zero deaths recorded so far. However, over a hundred patients are in hospital.

Investigations show that yellow, white and red onions from Chihuahua, Mexico are the leading cause. Eating the onions in their raw form made over seventy-five of the patients sick. A few patients had eaten from the same restaurant.

Symptoms of the disease occur after six hours of consumption of the contaminated onions.
