The Covid 19 lockdowns happened nearly one year ago. People were forced to close their gyms. As a result of this, there was a great demand for online fitness. Even though many gyms have opened up, people are still choosing to work out at home.

Seven million people visited the Pop Sugar website in January. Most of the people who visit the website are in their 20s. This is a 50 percent increase from December 2020. YouTube views also increased by 60 percent in January. Consumers spent 130.7 million minutes watching Popsugar Fitness videos on YouTube and Facebook in January. Additionally, Popsugar has generated a lot of revenue from third parties.

Looking to Expand

Popsugar Fitness has been successful, but they are trying to expand. They want to increase awareness about mental health issues. They highlighted personal stories for Mental Health Awareness Month in May. People shared their stories and are hoping that they will put an end to the stigma.

Popsugar Fitness has not released their exact plan. However, they have selected Jennifer Fields to spearhead the movement. She used to work as an editor for WebMD. She has also edited articles for AOL Health and Good Housekeeping.

Popsugar Fitness will be creating more articles around the topics of anxiety management, stress management and sleep. A Group Nine survey showed that 30 percent of people wanted personalized advice about improving their mental health and physical health. Two hundred thousand site Popsugar website visits were for mental health in January.

Gain Audience and Ad Dollars

Not only will Popsugar Fitness be able to grow their audience by expanding their content, but they can also make more money with advertisement. Advertisers are looking to advertise with people who go above beyond physical fitness and health. Under Armour, which is a sports apparel, has renewed its partnership with Popsugar Fitness.

Haley Paas is the head of media at Fitzo. She stated that more fitness publishers are starting to follow the interests of their audience, which is helping them retain their audience. Popsugar Fitness has not stated how much money they have made from partnering with Under Armour. However, they have stated that it was a sizable deal.
