Only 10 percent of truck drivers in 2019 were women. That was an increase from 7.8 percent in 2018. However, if you include driver managers, dispatchers and technicians, then the number of women in the trucking industry increases to 43.4 percent.

Clarissa’s first son was born with a heart defect. She was in school for criminal justice, but she knew that she would not make enough money to pay the piling medical bills. Trucking is a difficult industry to be in. However, many truck drivers make six figures. Clarissa managed to make over $100,000 during her second year on the job.
