Ben Frame became Vice President of Digital Products for ClearObject in 2019. He brings nearly 20 years of skills developed as a senior leader and technical designer for managed cloud solutions. He has brought his experience in sales growth and technology to ClearObject, helping the company continue to serve customers with digital transformation support.
ClearObject is one of the companies looking to help fill the void that many companies face in their pursuit of digital transformation. Ben Frame understands the changing technology landscape and needs for customers trying to grow in a virtual space.
He got his start in technology at Wabash College, where he got his first experience in IT support through a work-study program and internships. He went on to spend 15 years at Indy-based Apparatus where he worked in web development and infrastructure support. “You need to be willing to start with what works today and adapt quickly when things change,” says Frame.
The reality is: digital migration is in full swing and has been for a few years now. Nothing has pushed forward the move towards online spaces like the pandemic. As people were forced to stay home as much as possible, online activity skyrocketed. In 2020, 4.66 billion people (59% of the world’s population) were active internet users.
Frame has watched the IoT Systems demand skyrocket with people staying home and brands moving more of their components online.
During the fourth quarter of 2020, American consumer purchases increased a shocking 32.2% from 2019 Q4 sales. For the first time ever, November sales passed $100 billion with a record $10.8 billion on Cyber Monday alone. B2C companies are using big data and cloud services to help manage strong growth.
B2B companies are also increasing their online presence to target buyers. Forrester has reported that 92% of B2B purchases start online with search. The majority are saying they will finalize their vendor list based solely on digital content. Data analytics are crucial for understanding buyer behavior and improving experiences for higher rates of conversion.
With such dramatic changes, Frame notes the need for increased technology intelligence across every industry.
“Companies are spending boatloads of money on digital transformation, but most initiatives don’t ‘stick’ because they focus their efforts in the wrong place,” Ben Frame says. “The key is to recognize that digital transformation is a process, not a destination. We help customers identify opportunities that are high value and low effort, and help them find quick wins that build confidence and momentum that we can build on over time.”
Ben Frame believes navigating the unfamiliar waters is a big barrier for many companies seeking digital transformation. Companies that aren’t defining strategy and measuring outcomes are most likely to waste their time and money spent on digital transformation. With an expert supporting digital transformation strategy and key technologies in place, brands can be sure their budget is spent effectively and achieves a high ROI.
“The key is having a long-term strategy you believe in and creating short-term goals that are aligned to that strategy,” Frame notes. “Many of those short-term goals will fail, but you fail fast, make adjustments, and eventually find the things that do work that move you closer to your long-term goals.”
Frame says there has to be a balance between taking swift action to test a result and having a stable strategy in place that isn’t risking it all. It is even harder to strike the right balance of agile adaptation and conservative strategy without the experience of implementing digital transformation. In many cases, companies seeking digital transformation don’t fully know what is possible with the current tools and technologies.
Ben Frame is excited to help businesses improve data collection, build complex strategies and adapt to changing industry demands.
