When the founder of McKee Foods, O.D. McKee was in the process of naming the company’s new line of snack cakes in 1960, he decided to name the snack food brand after his granddaughter Debbie, who was four years old at the time.
Through the years, McKee Foods has remained a family oriented company, and it maintains manufacturing and distribution facilities in Arizona, Virginia, Arkansas and Tennessee. The company now produces more than 75 snack products and has a workforce of more than 6,000 employees.

Cakes and Pies
Among the snack cake varieties that are made by Little Debbie are chocolate, strawberry shortcake rolls, chocolate chip, devil cremes, banana, Swiss rolls, birthday cake, cookies & creme, and frosted fudge. Pie fans everywhere are fond of their cinnamon-spiced, mini apple pies, and cherry pies made with a combination of sweet and tart cherries.
Cookies
The Little Debbie brand manufactures nine types of soft cookies. Most of these cookies contain some type of creamy filling, and the company calls them pies. The selection of cookies includes raisin creme, jelly creme, oatmeal creme and banana marshmallow varieties.
Donuts
Seven varieties of tasty mini donuts are produced by Little Debbie/McKee Foods. These include powdered, chocolate frosted, strawberry, glazed, cinnamon sugar and double chocolate flavors, as well as glazed donut sticks.
