In 1926, Hormel introduced the first canned ham, and to this day, Hormel canned hams are favorite meat items for people around the world.
Since its introduction in 1937, Hormel’s Spam canned meat product has served as a favorite breakfast, lunch and dinner item for generations of hungry diners.

A Great Selection of Brands
Among the other well-known products made by Hormel are their Skippy peanut butter, Dinty Moore beef stew and canned chili.
There are now seven varieties of Skippy peanut butter, and on average, Hormel Foods sells 90 million jars of the peanut butter every year. Since 1935, Hormel has been producing Dinty Moore beef stew, and it continues to be a staple in kitchens everywhere.
Hormel also introduced its iconic chili in 1935. There are now seven varieties of Hormel Chili no beans, nine varieties of their chili with beans, and natural white chicken chili.
Another crowd-favorite made by Hormel Foods is their selection of pepperoni products. Customers can choose from pillow-pack bags, pepperoni sticks, pepperoni bites, pepperoni minis, diced pepperoni and turkey pepperoni.
In a March 2021 press release, Hormel Foods announced that it recently commissioned a Harris Poll that determined that the most popular pizza topping in the U.S. is definitely pepperoni. In the poll of more than 2,000 American adults, more than three-quarters of them agree that the combination of pepperoni and pizza is as well-known and liked as the combination of peanut butter and jelly.
